Deadline for the Latest Medtech Accelerator Call is Approaching Fast!
The Medtech Accelerator has been set up to facilitate the early stage development of medical technology and software innovations from within the NHS. It will support and finance projects through early stage proof of principle to maximise the chances of success further down the development pipeline.
Next Application Deadline
Friday 1st December is the next application deadline for the Medtech Accelerator Awards Committee who meet on a quarterly basis to review all applications. Shortlisted applicants will have the opportunity to pitch to the Awards Committee early 2018.
What's on Offer
Awards of between £15K and £125K are available to all HEE Member Trusts in the East of England, with a total of £1.5 million on offer for innovations that show the potential to create new company opportunities.
A HEE and Eastern AHSN led joint venture with New Anglia and GCGP LEPs uniquely set up to progress early stage innovation in the NHS
£1.5 million available in total; £15K-£125K individual awards
Aimed at developing innovations that have potential to create new company opportunities i.e. new start-ups
Awards made as either convertible loan notes or advanced equity subscriptions
Intended to support and finance early stage proof of principle work which typically might include market research, product and market validation, prototype development and testing, and IP protection
Open to all HEE Member Trusts and their academic or commercial collaborators.

CLAHRC East of England Fellowship The CLAHRC Fellowship is aimed at clinicians, health and social care practitioners, and managers, who would like to work at the interface of research and practice, to develop an understanding of the research environment, and to develop skills in research methodology, service redesign and change management. The taught component of the Fellowship aims to develop an understanding of research and evidence, research methodology, theory of change management, and systems theory applied to healthcare. The new round of Research Training Fellowships is now accepting applications. Applications are invited from health professionals and scientists (including more senior staff) working in the NHS or recognized higher education institutions in the UK, who would like a career in research in the fields of ageing, rehabilitation or palliative care.
The Fellowship will be expected to be in the range of £30k to £65k p.a. in total based on WTE salary costs (and will not normally exceed £65k p.a.)
Applicants must work within the NHS or a recognized higher education institution in the UK and hold a first degree (or equivalent). All Fellows are expected to undertake a higher degree as part of the fellowship.

How long does it take us to cost a study?
Please be aware that at least a minimum of 7 working days notice is usually required to provide costings, input into project design. and to obtain all the required signatures for a grant application. A minimum of 4 working days prior to a deadline should be allowed for the authorised R&D/Trust signatories.
