Electronic Resources

The Knowledge Zone offers access to a host of electronic resources including databases such as MEDLINE, Embase and CINAHL, electronic books and electronic journals.

Literature search requests
We will carry out mediated literature searches on your behalf to inform patient care, research and service development. Searches will normally be dispatched within 5-10 working days of the request being made. Users requiring literature searches to support their continuing education are encouraged to attend training in literature searching skills. To request a search please complete this form.

Enquiries Service
We provide timely answers to any healthcare information-related questions for all staff members. Please just ask one of our team and they will get back to you with an answer as quickly as possible.

Our book catalogue can be found hereBooks may be borrowed for 4 weeks, but can be renewed, provided that they have not been requested by anyone else. Books may be borrowed and returned using the self-service system in the Library. Alternatively, books may be returned by posting into the letter box outside the Library door or by leaving on the trolley near the Library counter. Please do not put them back on the shelves.

Inter-library loans and document supply
If we don't have the book or article you need, we may be able to get it for you through our inter-library loan network. Complete this form, filling in as many details and as clearly as possible and email it to us. Make sure you also sign the copyright statement at the bottom and then return the form to the library. There may be a charge for this service.

Many journals can be accessed online here. Print copies in the Library are for reference only and should not be removed from the Library.

KnowledgeShare is our targeted current awareness service. Whenever we find high impact documents in your area, we will let you know. KnowledgeShare contains summarised evidence; you will not be inundated with primary research articles. Click here to register

Photocopying, scanning and printing
Photocopying, scanning and printing facilities are available. A PIN number is required to operate the photocopier and there may be a charge.
