Papworth sees boost in nurse recruitment

More than 20 new nurses have been welcomed to Papworth Hospital over the past two months.

In July, 10 new nurses attended induction and will join teams across the Trust, including Cath Labs, Mallard Ward, Critical Care and Hugh Fleming Ward.

And last week, 11 registered/pre-registered nurses and six healthcare support workers were among around 60 new staff who took part in August’s induction sessions.

Cydney West returned to Papworth as a Senior Nurse in Mallard Ward. The 26-year-old previously spent two and a half years at the hospital, working as a critical care nurse.

“I loved working here previously,” she said. “It’s a very friendly place so I had no hesitation in returning.”

In addition, 25 nurses and 5 healthcare support workers signed up for a recruitment day event on Saturday (August 12).
