Heart patient cycles from Lands End to John O'Groats

A heart surgery patient from Hilton cycled from Lands End to John O'Groats to say thank you to the hospital which restored her health.

Alison Dunk undertook the challenge for Papworth Hospital last month, on a tandem, accompanied by husband Kieron.

“The ride was undertaken as a personal challenge and thank you, as before my heart surgery in 2009, I could never have even contemplated a day of cycling. So it's great to share hope with those in the early stages of recovery.” Said Alison.

“My husband Kieron and I have a lot of people to thank and we felt that this would give it a meaningful "Couldn't have done it without you" message. I really didn't think I could make the whole route but I did and I am delighted to be able to show how well I am, added Alison.

Alison and husband Kieron are pictured here with Chief Executive Stephen Bridge at Papworth Hospital.
