Are you a Papworth person?

A Papworth person puts patients at the centre of everything they do. You are flexible and work as part of a team, striving for excellence every day. You embrace change and have high personal standards, taking responsibility for your career development and health and wellbeing.

Our Papworth People staff engagement programme brings to life what we do and how we do it so that we can provide even clearer objectives and measurements to help improve our service to patients, increase our productivity and ensure we support our staff in maintaining their own health and wellbeing. It is vital that you feel valued and confident and competent in your role providing a high quality service, safeguarding patients, yourself and your working practice.

Valuing your health and wellbeing

Papworth Hospital’s successful Valuing Health and Wellbeing programme for staff involves activities run by staff members such as keeping active, and musculoskeletal support which involves a walking group, and discounted shiatsu treatments; mental wellbeing and counseling support; and healthy eating advice and support.

Elizabeth Horne, Director of Human Resources, Papworth Hospital says: “Papworth Hospital’s success as a leading heart and lung hospital is down to our excellent staff who go the extra mile every day to care for our patients. We are very proud to be the first NHS hospital in the country to receive the joint Investors in People NHS Health and Wellbeing award. It is evidence of our deep commitment to the development, education and support of all our staff at Papworth Hospital as well as the personal responsibility staff are taking for their own health and wellbeing.”
