Patients and Visitors

Nurse and patientPapworth is a special place, made so by the extraordinary people that work, coach, teach, treat and are treated here every day. Whether you are currently a patient, are coming into hospital or are visiting, this website will give you information about the Hospital and our services.

Nobody looks forward to a stay in hospital, but we will do all we can to make you welcome and make your time with us as pleasant and comfortable as possible.

This section of the web site gives you information about preparing for, and being admitted to hospital, and what to do when you arrive. It also briefly describes the life of the hospital, and how your care is provided.

The web site will not answer all your questions, but the nurse in charge of the ward or your doctor will be pleased to supply any information you need. As well as the information contained in this section of the web site, you will receive more detailed information in two booklets - Information for Patients and Information for Visitors - when you receive your letter of admission.

If you require information prior to admission, please ring the hospital on 01480 830541 and ask to speak to the relevant Patient Services Officer (Cardiac, Thoracic or Transplant).

Enquiries

If you wish to make an enquiry regarding a patient, telephone the hospital number or ring the ward direct. It would be helpful to staff if only one person rings and then passes on the information to other relatives and friends.
