Choice of consultant
We have a range of specialists within the hospital who are considered to be leaders in their field, allowing you to be treated by highly experienced and skilled staff. The profiles for many of our consultants can be found on the Papworth Hospital website.

Cleanliness
Papworth Hospital has extremely high standards of cleanliness and passed this year’s Care Quality Commission’s unannounced inspection on every measure relating to infection prevention and control and outcomes.

The Varrier-Jones Ward
The Papworth private patient service is housed in the purpose-built Varrier-Jones Ward and has 16 rooms with en-suite facilities, a range of outpatient facilities and access to the hospitals five operating theatres, five catheterisation laboratories and extensive equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of conditions of the heart and lungs. The private patient service in the Varrier-Jones Ward is the staffed by registered nurses and healthcare assistants and has 24 hour medical cover.

The private facility at Papworth Hospital will treat patients with either medical insurance or who are self-funding.

In order to be seen by a consultant at Papworth Hospital we will require a referral letter and any test results from either your GP or consultant.
