Our communications team handles all media enquiries relating to the hospital, its staff, patients and their families. Please contact us directly with any queries or requests.
Papworth Hospital spokespeople
We accept requests for an official comment from the hospital or for a spokesperson to talk about a particular condition, research, treatment or news article. We will respond as quickly as possible but please be aware we are an extremely busy communications department.

As a leading cardiothoracic hospital we have experts able to talk on heart and lung surgery and medicine as well as respiratory and sleep medicine with the largest sleep centre in the country.
We deal with a high volume of media requests from both regional and national media outlets on a weekly basis and therefore we welcome any requests from journalists or production companies looking to discuss feature ideas or filming opportunities.
New Papworth Hospital
As the new Papworth Hospital project progresses we aim to keep the public and media informed of the latest developments in the process.

Media Enquiries, interviews and picture requests
We invite members of the media to get in touch with their media enquiries and aim to meet their requests wherever possible and appropriate. However we are an extremely busy cardiothoracic hospital and therefore we sometimes may not be able to meet interview requests at short notice.
If you would like to speak to one of our patients or take pictures of them we would request that you contact us directly for this to be arranged. Interviews, filming and photography can only take place on site once the Business Services team has been notified.
Please note that all media must be accompanied by a member of the Press Office whilst on the hospital site.
Additionally, the Communications Team manages a portfolio of images of Trust buildings and staff. If you would like a particular image please contact the communications team.
Patient condition checks
If you would like to request a condition check on a patient you will need to provide us with the patient’s full name, their address and their date of birth. This information is necessary for us to identify the patient. Condition checks will only then be provided once we have received consent from the family or next of kin. Please do not contact the wards directly.
During normal working hours please contact the Communications Team. Outside these hours please telephone the switchboard on 0161 789 7373 and ask to speak to the Senior Manager On-call.
We welcome visits from journalists, broadcasters and production crews. If you would like to arrange a tour or visit please contact us.
